I cannot share a bed and sometimes not even a room with anyone at night because I cannot sleep. I am very worried I will fail to have normal relationship one day because of this. I have been told this is just a caprice of mine, but it truly isn’t, it is something very disturbing I have to deal with and I dont know how.

I have an unspecified sleep disorder (I have never properly been treated or diagnosed) that has gotten worse in the last six months. I have had it my whole life. On a good day, it fits the description of “Sleep onset insomnia“. But it is unpredictable, and while it does have a “cycle” (actually multiple cycles), I cannot reliably control my sleep (unless I work night shift, then I have less problems, but I still have them). So this morning, I had an episode of sleep paralysis that lasted possibly an hour, I can’t tell how long. I was alert and awake, but still dreaming and unable to move. I was late for work because of it.
So my question…where can I go online for resources or help dealing with an unknown and problematic sleep disorder?

I read an article about a clinic in Florida that specializes in children who still wet the bed due to a disorder called Oxygen Deprived sleep. It causes kids to stay in a stage 4 sleep most of the night, so when the bladder sends a signal to the brain that it is full the brain does not get it due to such a deep sleep. Now we are from New Orleans and it is just not an option to go to Florida to have this treatment. Does anyone know of any clinics closer to me? Has anyone been through this? Any advice would be such a help.

I mean like 16-20 hours a day… for weeks and sometimes months… before they would go back to almost normal life… until it hit again… Then it would happen to them again… throughout their lives…
I can’t for the life of me remember what this sleep disorder was called and can’t find it anywhere…. does anyone have ANY IDEA what I’m talking about?

Also usually once every month when you dont get sleep when your body goes into spasms and you have pain jolting through your body the whole day.
i heard that this condition is rare.
does anyone know what it is?
and no, its not insomnia
